Parking In Denver: Bring Extra Change

A nasty side effect of the economic problems facing us is that cities are hard up for cash.  One of the ways desperate cities get money into their coffers is to increase the number of traffic tickets issued.  In Denver, that means that if you plan on parking downtown (reminder:  take RTD when you can), bring extra change–the meter enforcers will be out in force.  Today’s Denver Post has their take here:

The DenverPost was particularly helpful, giving all of us a road map of where to be most on the lookout:

The most common places to get a ticket last year were Denver International Airport and Lower Downtown. But some residential neighborhoods next to Congress Park, West Highland and Cherry Creek had among the highest concentrations of tickets in the city.

Also, beware the first Tuesday and Wednesday of most months during street-sweeping hours in Capitol Hill.
